Our programs include: MBTI and its Applications at WorkThe Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is probably the most trusted and widely used assessment in the world for understanding individual differences and revealing new ways to work and interact with others. Derived from Jung's theory of psychological type, the MBTI is a self-report questionnaire designed to help people better understand themselves, their motivations, unique strengths, and potential areas for growth. Many organisations worldwide use the MBTI to improve individual and team performance, nurture and retain top talent, develop leadership and reduce workplace conflict. Gallup Research has shown that well-managed workgroups are 50% more productive, 44% more profitable, and can double levels of commitment from their customers. In the case of human service industries, this can mean the difference between frustratingly poor client progress, and clients with high motivation for change, simply by knowing which staff are best suited to work with each client. In this workshop, all participants complete the MBTI to identify their own type preferences. We then examine differences in terms of time management, decision-making style, preferred learning styles, person-job fit, and other work-related factors. Finally, we investigate the implications of type on your own work team, and look into ways this can be addressed to optimise interpersonal relations and team performance. Time Management WorkshopA common problem faced by people at all levels in the workplace is time pressure. It is ranked as the most serious contributor to job stress, and cited by large numbers of employees as a significant reason for looking for another job. Stephen Covey’s groundbreaking work on strategies for personal and corporate effectiveness provides a unique framework for understanding time and the way we manage it in ways that contribute to achieving personal and professional targets. In this workshop, we explore several key approaches to time management, including Covey’s, then apply these in a series of practical activities that allows participants to analyse time/activity ratios within their own workplace setting and develop alternative schemas for reducing workload pressure, increasing efficiency and effectiveness, and minimising time-related job stress. Please note this is an interactive outcomes-focused workshop that requires active participation by managers, supervisors, and employees particularly where organisational outcomes are a goal. Strategic Planning WorkshopEach year, many organisations large and small invest time into planning for the year ahead. In many cases, once the plan is “written up”, it is put into a safe place and forgotten until the next year, and life goes on as it did before. Strategic planning should become an integral part of every organisation’s day-to-day operations, but few organisations take the time to address realistic strategies for doing this. In this practical 1-day workshop, we start with the end in mind – the shared vision. We then apply “new management” strategies to evolve a strategic plan that will be a living document, something to inform every staff member’s monthly, weekly and daily activities so that the vision is transformed into reality. Team Building WorkshopTeams are an inevitable part of work life, but few organisations see their teams as fundamental to the successful achievement of their business goals. Like the valuable equipment we use on a daily basis, teams need regular maintenance to be able to perform optimally. Teams only work effectively if they share a vision of the future, if relationships between team members are regularly lubricated, and if the balance between work and fun is maintained for everyone’s health and wellbeing. In this workshop, we analyse the “assets” currently available to your team, we establish a shared vision, and we work together to put in place a set of “team hygiene” strategies that will ensure yours becomes a team of which you can be proud. Effective Management for Tomorrow’s WorldWe are living in unstable times, from the threat of terrorism through to climate change that could drastically alter our world in the next decade or two. For managers and team leaders, new approaches are needed to ensure that your workplace can adapt quickly and effectively to these challenges. In this workshop, we examine three foundations for organisational effectiveness – human, social and organisational capital. By understanding and applying the principles of emotional intelligence (EQ), effective interpersonal relations, and organisational health, you can ensure that you are managing in a way that ensures the resilience of your organisation. |
